FAQs

What do we do at Allison Jones Consulting Services?

We work in partnership with our clients to address their labour needs by finding qualified candidates through the Temporary Foreign Worker program.

What is the TFW program in Canada?

The program was introduced in 1973 by the federal government to help employers meet Canada’s growing labour demands when Canadians or permanent residents are not available.

Who are our candidates?

Internationally Educated Nurses already working overseas as well as other skilled professionals in their fields.

How long does the process take?

You can expect to receive your first arrivals within 4 – 5 months.

What if the TFW doesn't work out?

If the candidate is not your ideal match, we offer a 6-month replacement guarantee at no additional charge to you.

How long can I have the TFWs for?

Your TFW is with you on a minimum 2-year employer-specific closed work permit.

Do I have to find them accomodations?

Although there is no obligation as an employer to find a skilled worker accommodation, we do ask that you help them find temporary accommodation when they first arrive in Canada. Employers do not have to pay for accommodations.

Do I have to pay for health insurance for them?

No, the TFW qualifies for the provincial health coverage.

Will the TFW be able to communicate with my team and seniors within our facilities?

All our TFWs take the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test during our screening process. All our candidates must score 7 or higher out of 9 to move forward to the final stage of interviews with our clients.

How long will it take an Internationally Educated Nurse to become qualified here in Canada?

On average the process takes 9 to 12 months to complete.
